ITS FINALLY SUMMER!!!!

WOOHOO FOR SUMMER!!!! The nice weather means the exterior projects are in full swing. The roofing crews are going to be starting some new projects on monday while the siding crew is booked out for another month. The carpenters are finishing up 2 full bathroom remodels while gearing up for a dormer/addition coming up next. They are also doing a porch in Brookfield that was started last monday. The guys down at the Condo Project are bangin’ out the siding and windows. Lots of rotten wood to be replaced after we tore into it.
WE have a couple high end kitchen remodels, exterior carpentry and basement remodels coming up. Ill be sure to have pictures of the progress from those.

Condo Project UPDATE 5-2-12

The first of the “bump outs” is just about done. There was more work than we thought after we tore off the old siding and found bad wood underneath. So we repaired all the bad wood and wrapped everything in Tyvek after installing the new windows. Then installed the James Hardie fiber cement siding and aluminum trim. Here are some pictures of the progress.

Like i said before. Im going to be giving you a little insite of what we have going on here at JM through the blog. We started on phase 2 of the condo project on the eastside we began last fall. David and Dave just started a bathroom remodel in Milwaukee, with George and Brad working in West Allis doing roofing, soffit, facia, trim and blow in insulation.

Here a snap shot of a basement we got done doing a little while ago. From complete emptiness to beautiful usable space for our customers family. This is only HALF of what we did. More HD pictures and specifics of what we did will be available on our website soon.

What goin’ on at JM

The summer is upon us (well kinda) and that means we here at JM are going to start kicking into high gear. We have some cool projects in the works that I will showing all of you throughout the summer. Mainly our window project down on Water Street where we are replacing windows in 3 large condo complexes. Phase one has been completed where we re-caulked and sealed all of the masonry windows in all 3 buildings. Phase 2 will be replacing all the other windows, re-wrapping the exterior and covering it with new James Hardy siding. It should be a hard working and exciting summer. Stay Tuned

Siding Job – Milwaukee

Here are some before and afters of an all wood house in need of some TLC. Our homeowner was tired of keeping up on the maintenance for his house. He wanted to keep the same look but not have the hassle of painting his house siding and trim every 3-5 years. We installed Mastic vinyl siding over a foam backerboard for added insulation value and custom aluminum trim to all the wood trim areas on the house, giving the house a nice clean and finished look!

Condo Project UPDATE 11-28

All 3 building have the first and second floor bricked windows done. We are moving right along. Going to keep up the pace until the weather says we cant anymore.

Hales Corners – Kitchen Remodel and Custom Carpentry – WRA/NARI Award Winner

In June of 2007 we did a complete remodel of this customers bathroom. She called us back asking if we could continue updating throughout the entire first floor. We began in the kitchen by eliminating the enclosed foyer area to make way for more storage space and installed a beautiful solid wood exterior door that we had stained and finished which really opened up the room. She wanted to keep the flow from room to room, so instead of ceramic flooring, we installed new 2 ¾ inch Oak tongue and groove flooring that was sanded and finished along with the rest of the first floor. Five inch recessed can lights were installed along with new drywall on the ceiling. The cabinets we installed are Oak with a low sheen “cherry” finish along with custom granite counter tops and euro style brushed nickle hardware that blend flawlessly with the new stainless steel appliances. The finishing touches in the kitchen are the Kohler stainless double bowl sink and Kohler high arch faucet.

The dining room was updated with 5” recessed can lighting along with new drywall on the ceiling as well. We installed a custom 3 piece base molding that was stained to match the refinished Oak hardwood floor.

The den had very old built in hutches along the outer wall that were original to the house. We removed these to open up the room and give our custom an at-home office. The same treatment was given to this room with new recessed lighting, dry-walled ceiling, 3 piece base molding and a completely refinished hardwood floor that gave her more than enough room to get things done in the comfort of her own home.

Last but not least, we completely rebuilt the outside of her fireplace using Travertine tile and finishing it up with a new fireplace insert. What use to be an eyesore has now become the centerpiece of her livingroom.

Whitefish Bay – Church

All wood fascia was custom wrapped in aluminum which includes the church building as well as the parish building. Unique to this particular project was the installation of the custom bent aluminum trim over wood grilles and mullions on the decorative windows on the church. This was done to keep the beautiful original windows but still making them maintenance free.
